Is English in the USA more straight to the point?

They don't like wasting time. 

I am probably biased but i disagree :D I think a lot of the british are very blunt and to the point so much so that we upset a lot of people a lot of the time. The british you hear isn't the british that the majority of people speak in. Books and Dramas are written in queens english or period english but no one sounds like that.00. I am an English teacher and i absolutely hate pretty much every example in all my B1 B2 classes. It teaches foreigner to speak the language in a manner where they instantly seem socially awkward.
