Ok completely random, but when I was younger I never understood the phrase "pet peeve". 

What's the origin of the word/phrase? Like.."pet"...why is there a "pet" in the phrase? I don't get it :/

I'd really want to have a sort of an answer but really can't think of anytihing :/ 

It's not that I dont' have pet peeves, but I can't really think of any :( Sorry :(
