Diet
After turning 40 health changes. A clichè. A true clichè. I can feel it in my overall health condition, specially the joints. Lower back, knees, shoulders, the feet, although I believe it's also related to the quarantine, because all those issues arose after my quitting dance classes - no way I'm dancing in front of a screen!
Besides that, I also have an expressive hair loss and my period got irregular due to a big womb mioma. It was my not wanting to go under surgery that led me to the Chinese Medicine, and to a diet.
According to the practice, I need to take care of my spleen-pancreas - they consider it a whole. The therapist told me to include more roots in my diet - beet, potatoes, carrots, yam - mainly yam.
I was surprised to feel it very quickly my body response. I started water gym for the joint pains, and I caught myself with the energy I had when I was in my twenties. It's palpable. The week I feed consciously, I feel great, the week I abuse of sugar, dairy or white flour, I get slow and energyless.
I tried changing my habits as a whole, such as going to bed and waking up earlier, giving up unnecessary conflicts, not procrastinanting duties so they won't become a load, paying closer attention to my sensitivities. It's not even, of course. I go back and forth, but something has changed, I know I have a "place" to go back to whenever I give myself up.
