Grammar
Here are two fairly common adjective prefixes. They look somewhat similar, so I grouped them together in this lesson.
Naka-adjectives
Don’t confuse this naka with the completed form of maka-verbs. Naka brings the nuance of in the condition of or wearing the root word.
Ex: upo
Show
= sitting;
Show
nakaupo
Show
= seated
Show
Ex: bestida
Show
= dress;
Show
nakabestida
Show
= wearing a dress
Show
Formation <naka+root>
Nakaka-adjectives
Nakaka adjectives add the nuance of making someone feel like the root word
Ex: takot
Show
= fear;
Show
nakakatakot
Show
= frightening
Show
Ex: hiya
Show
= embarassment;
Show
nakakahiya
Show
= embarassing
Show
Formation <nakaka+root>
