Fast food becoming more and more popular is harmful to the environment. This is because fast food restaurants almost exclusively provide disposable tableware and food packaging, which contributes to the vast quantities of garbage every day, which often is not biodegradable either. For instance, KFC and McDonald’s drinks are served in paper cups instead of glass bottles and offer plastic forks and spoons rather than reusable cutlery. Therefore, the increase in fast food consumption and its growing output of waste will contribute to severe levels of soil, water, and air pollution when this trash is landfilled or combusted.
