Mod is all around us. In the air and on the floor, it can gross us out but not all the mods are bad. Penicillin is the first antibiotic medicine that was discovered by alexander fleming.
The Discovery of penicillin started with Alexander Fleming. A chain of events led fleming to discover penicillin, and it happened accidentally. One day he forgot to clean up his Petri dishes full of harmful bacteria, and when he came back from vacation he saw molds covered bacteria it was no surprise but what was surprising was the mods had killed bacteria.
Fleming knew he was on something but he did not know about producing mods for further research. So he published his research and two chemists noticed and started to produce the mod. Then they tested the mods on 50 mice who had harmful bacteria. Twenty-two of twenty-five mice were given penicillin survived. If these two scientists had chosen guinea pigs instead of mice they would have seen the right result. because penicillin does not affect guinea pigs.
These three scientists won the Nobel prize in 1945. now the doctors had a cure for the disease. If it weren't because of some accidental events, the discovery of penicillin would have never happened.
