The effects of social media in a society

From my point of view, there are positive and negative effects of social media in a society. There are many social medias such as Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Pinterest etc. I'd like to explain my point of view about some of these social medias and to try to giving a solution about it.
In my point of view, I hate social media because it is a mean to show status. People often post pictures of their new cars on Facebook to show off. On the other hand, if she or he is a disease, they do not think in post photos of being a disease.

Recently I got regret about Facebook because the most of information is no sense and I have wasted my time on seeing it. The same perspective I have for Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, WhatsApp, etc.

In Brasil the Government has prohibited Brazilian people on WhatsApp. Let me explain better; the judge has limited the number of messages to send every day. Now every person has the possibility of sending only three messages per day. At the beginning, I thought it was terrible. But in long time I realized it was a great measure.
To mitigate the negative effects of social media, some attitudes are necessary, such as disable notification from all social media. Have in mind what do you are looking for before entering on Facebook, for example. Because it is very common to lose time reading other posts. My opinion is; there are a lot of means to use an internet in order to earn some profits for example instead of wasting time on social media.
