Never choose Chinese Studies as a major
As a Chinese Studies graduate, the question "what do you want to be" in the future is a commonly asked question from others. Most of us may think this question before we enrolled in this major and want to become a teacher. But the majority of us will still need to figure it out on our own. At the reality, we need to face the truth that our circle are only surrounded by Chinese, which causes graduates from this major to have less cross-cultural exposure compared with students from another discipline, which consists of multi-racial groups. This result shows we have less competence in language or cultural handling in the workplace. If I could go back and change one decision, I would never have compromised with my mother to study Chinese Studies.
