Thanks to e-world, learning other languages nowadays is already at our fingertips. When we are interested to embrace a new language, we initially check on the basic of it by surfing the net. And bravo! It's like magic. It appears in our screen and offers us a variety of options to start with. And when we continue to browse, related links continue to pour out from nowhere as if they are tempting us to open them all. Of course, interested as we are, we will open them in new tabs, eager to open them one after the other. This is a common knowledge and facts for us millenials, but how about our parents and grandparents. How did they manage to learn a different language without the net.

Compared to the comfort that the net is giving us in this modern era, our elders have gone through the old approach in education. I have few old acquaintances who could speak and write more than four languages. And they are within the 50-70 age bracket. They learned the languages through old steps. They only rely on the teacher for pronunciation and all. When having a one-on-one or group review without the teacher, they can't go back and check for themselves if they got it right. Their only reference are the notes and mostly memories of how their teacher have spoken the words correctly.

This is how lucky we are today. We have all the means to develop ourselves and maximize our talents. Thanks to these modern facilities, our horizon has expanded.
