Listening is an Art but a must skill

What comes to our mind, when we hear the word listening?
Hear what others say? or a way to get information?
Listening is not just limited to what we hear or to get information. Whenever you start learning a new language what do you need most? A good vocabulary, grammar but more important is the pronunciation of words. But how do we achieve that, by acquiring new skill called listening. It's more enjoyable to learn a new language when you get the feel of how the words can be pronounced to leave an effective mark.
Listening is an art, the amount of information flowed into the environment is very vast. You can not remember everything, neither it is important. Keeping the necessary information is an art.
There's a famous saying about listening, here it goes,
Speaking is knowing what you already know, but listening is knowing what others know.

Listen was gotten from communication because communication without understanding means the listener is not communicating.

And most at times, it is preset in our systems that we listen in other to respond rather than listening to understand, and so we mostly give out responses that closely match what sooths us or goes in line with our thoughts and beliefs.

Another famous saying by DALAI LAMA, to quote: "When you talk, you are only repeating what you already know. But if you listen, you may learn something new. One thing to bear in mind, that sometimes, we have the tendency to have a selective hearing. We only want to hear what we choose to hear, instead of what the communicator is actually trying to say. As a result, we keep on forgetting even the simplest details.
