The subject in itself is true especially to those who seek to understand life and purpose. Where the purpose of a thing is not known, abuse is inevitable. Look around you today and see the countless number of lives that live abusively, ironically same people want to be respected and held in high esteem. How can one tell if he or she is being given the respect due him or her? How can I as an individual know for a fact that my immediate family holds me is such high regards. We spend time and other resources trying to better our outward looks, when truly we know that deep inside we are not sure if this is what or who we should be. "know thy self". I was privileged to read the Bible and I found out that the first man (Eve) was the very first casualty of such ignorance. If only she had know and believed that which was handed to her, she would have remain in the form and nature she was made.
A young boy grew up believing a man and a woman who had cared and nurtured him were his parents, of course he had no reason to doubt because he was loved like any other child in that family, cared for and discipline like any other child. Until one day he met someone who claimed to be his father, how I don't know, but this man, as strange as any stranger can be succeeded in talking this young boy to believe he had been living a lie. The young boy knew not how to confront his parents about this supposed newly found truth neither did he find a way to tell himself what the truth about his life was. He lived with this doubt until It drove him to suicide, and he left this simple note "I thought I was loved as a legitimate child, never knew I was living a lie".
Man know thy self, for it is after this knowledge has been fully convinced that the real us in us is revealed.
