Grammar
The most frequently used verb types have already been introduced – mag, um, ma, in, i and an. You can think of the verb types from this point on as 2nd tier – not as common, but still quite useful.
Maka and makapag-verbs have usage that overlaps ma-verb usage, and even conjugation is quite similar. Unlike ma-verbs, these are actor-focus and have no imperative.
Maka-verbs are made from roots that normally take um and makapag-verbs are made from roots that normally take mag. For example, pumunta is more common that magpunta, so makapunta is used. Similarly, trabaho takes mag, so makapagtrabaho is used.
