An alternative ending for the happy prince

The Swallow, battling the bitter cold, refused to fly to Egypt and continued to live with the prince to support him in his time of need. God saw this love and friendship among the two and decided to do something. He restored the prince to his glory. The Happy Prince became golden and beautiful once again and was admired by all. The little Swallow developed extra layers of feathers to protect him from the cold, and the two continued to live with each other. The prince continued to be generous, but his wealth never diminished. The Swallow was his messenger and informant. They became immortal. The Happy Prince whispered to the Swallow, “I have copious sheets of gold leaf, rubies and sapphires now, so we can perpetuate our desire to help those in need.” Their perennial good deeds made the town thrive once as it was before. The two realized that these miracles were the work of God and they looked towards heaven to thank God.
