Filipino Language
Philippines' official language is Filipino. Philippines has at least 130 local dialects and the most common is the Tagalog. The reason for having many dialects is due to the Philippines being an archipelago consisting of more than 7000 islands. Many Filipino words came from Malay, Chinese, Spanish, and American-English. Filipino language is the fourth most spoken language in the United States with about 1.7 million speakers following English, Spanish, and Chinese. Philippines has a unique alphabet called the Baybayin but nowadays, they are using the English alphabet.
