Trish.Rutter Ah! You must be American. Sorry, I just researched the "se/ce ending (if that's what you're referring to) and it is only in the US that the changes made by Noah Webster included that to always be "ce". The rest of the English speaking world still differentiates between the noun and the verb.

You’ll notice that I switched around some of the phrasing for clarity and because the conversation happened last night, I changed some words to past tense. I assumed you were talking about the person you spoke to and not all of us so I changed “all” to “both”. Instead of the correction “I feel conversation is “ you could use “for myself, conversation is”. I’m not good at punctuation so I probably got that wrong.

Just a clue: Practice is a noun, with a c. Practise is a verb, with an s. Practising in present tense. Crazy English language! And full stop, or period, comes immediately after the last word in the sentence, then one space after that before new sentence.

Is that an Australian thing? I’ve never heard of that rule.

Trish - regarding practice (I had to google this, haha). In US English: I will practice writing. (practice is a verb) I will go to basketball practice. (practice is also a noun) In UK/Australian English: I will practise writing. (practise is a verb) I will go to basketball practice. (practice is a noun)
