Hello!
Here's some dictionaries you can use for Marathi (I have included %s as a search wildcard in the URLs). Example Marathi word to test the dictionaries with: घाम
https://www.khandbahale.com/language/marathi-dictionary-translation-meaning-of-%s
https://www.transliteral.org/dictionary/%s/word
https://www.shabdkosh.com/search-dictionary?lc=mr&sl=en&tl=mr&e=%s
https://dsal.uchicago.edu/cgi-bin/app/marathi_query.py?qs=%s&searchhws=yes&matchtype=default
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%s#Marathi
They are all Mar -> Eng, except 2. Transliteral and UChicago search multiple dictionaries and may have only Mar -> Mar for some words.
Thank you!!
For Hindi, I recommend removing UChicago and Hindi-English.org. The former doesn't seem to pick up even basic Hindi words like प्यार or कसम. The latter doesn't seem to be working at all.
I recommend adding these for Hindi (%s used as a search wildcard):
https://www.boltidictionary.com/en/search?s=%s
https://dict.hinkhoj.com/shabdkhoj.php?word=%s
https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%s#Hindi

Note that for Spanish, I use the Wordreference dictionary, which is the best and cleanest Esp -> Eng one in my opinion. However, the search URL used for it could use some tweaking, because right now if it finds a word that also exists in English, it shows Eng -> Esp definitions instead of Esp -> Eng. You can test this with the word 'halo' in Spanish.
This is the URL I used in a previous app: https://www.wordreference.com/es/en/translation.asp?spen=%s
-
For Japanese, I recommend switching from Jisho to JPDB.io (https://jpdb.io), which has the same dictionary as Jisho, but offers more learner-relevant information per word, such as pitch accents, example sentences, and so on.

For Urdu, you can use Rekhta and Wiktionary:

https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/%s#Urdu

Just to confirm - you want Russian translations of Kazakh, right?Loie wrote:Hi! Can you add sozdik.kz for kazakh?

Could you please add verbix for Turkish verb conjugation?
https://www.verbix.com/languages/turkish
And I saw Tureng on the list for Turkish dictionaries but it doesn't appear when I click the dictionairy button. Was it removed again?
Hi Lukas. This is a verb conjugation tool, not a dictionary, so I don't see how to make this work unfortunately.Lukas wrote:Could you please add verbix for Turkish verb conjugation?
I see it on chrome desktop - what browser/platform are you using?wrote:And I saw Tureng on the list for Turkish dictionaries but it doesn't appear when I click the dictionairy button. Was it removed again?

Oh you're right I didn't really think that one through
I'm using chrome desktop on windows 11 and the app on android 16. On desktop I don't get anything when clicking on the dictionary button and when using the app I get the 'request a dictionary' button

Oh, I see now - it's a Turkish/English dictionary, so if you have "Translations in" set to German, it won't work.Lukas wrote:And I saw Tureng on the list for Turkish dictionaries but it doesn't appear when I click the dictionairy button.
