How To Overcome the Fear of Speaking a New Language!

I recently found out that my friends mom, who is from Spain, actually knows English but she was too afraid to speak it around fluent speakers. I feel like I can relate because for a while I was embarrassed to speak any Spanish because I did not know how to pronounce certain words and I could not roll the "R". :)

I would like to share this article I recently stumbled upon about how to overcome the fear of speaking a new language. In the article there are some great tips to try if you or someone you know is afraid to speak a new language to someone who is fluent.

I was afraid of speaking a foreign language before with native speakers. But as I grew older I stopped caring for what other people think about my language skills. They should be happy I evem try to have a conversation in their native language. I am always happy to meet someone who is learning my language even if they make mistakes or have an accent.
