I’d like an explanation,i’ve never really understood why?, does it mean the same thing?and are there other names for other languages?

Why is Spanish called Espanõl?
It has to do with the country:
Español - España
Spanish - Spain
Alemán - Alemania
German - Germany
Deutsch (I believe) - Deutschland
