Many people consider latin a "dead language"

Many other ancient languages can be seen as dead (or evolving into something else) from the "ancient times"

Do you think in the modern day and age we can see more languages becoming "dead"?

Maybe not in the next 100 years but in the next 500 maybe? Especially seeing as English is used more and more....who knows...

I think so. Even in my country, there are dialects that are at risk of "disappearing" because no one really uses it anymore.

This is a reality ever since there is evolution. Some languages are already endangered and some were already forgotten.

I've read one time on Facebook that our dialect here in my province is dying. Many parents do not teach their children how to speak our dialect.

Yeah, at least they'll stay in history forever for people into "past langauges" or at least as a "fun trivia" in the future :/

I guess this is part of the evolution of humanity, languages dying and the world using more universal languages

Oh no, I'm a little guilty of this. I speak fluent Pangasinan, but don't want to teach my son at the moment. Well, the good news is he understands the language and even tries to speak it just by hearing us talk to each other in Pangasinan. :)

My dad's Ilocano but he also never tried teaching us. I know a couple of words but not even enough to ask for directions or to buy stuff at the market.
