When I read about apples being good for losing weight and eating less calories I thought the same! The explanation is that apples are high in weight loss friendly fiber and they have a lot of water inside them. Water-rich foods are quite filling, which often leads to reduced calorie intake. It turns out you end up eating less and feeling fuller :o.

That's not the same as getting negative calories, like you do with celery. If you subtract the fiber from the calories in apples, you will still have a lot of calories. I completely agree that apples are good for you though.
