I absolutely adore French. :) I've tried learning it 3 times now -- first when I was 19, then 23, then 25. Failed miserably in all three tries. Hahahaha! I get dejected because I can't do nasal sounds so I just quit after 3 - 4 sessions.

French sounds beautiful, I agree. But how about written language?
Learning Italian every day!
Written language.. Thai is a challenge.
I'm a Voice and Accent trainer so my focus has always been to be able to speak fluently. I'm super self-conscious though so after a month (4 sessions, 1 per week) of lessons and still being unable to produce an acceptable uvular R and the nasal sound in bonjour, I quit. :S

I haven't tried learning it. Interest in the culture (movies, music, history) is a big thing for me so of the Asian languages, I only tried learning two -- Korean because I got started on Kpop in the late 90s and Japanese because I got started on anime even earlier than Kpop. :)

Most people here can count in Spanish. The spelling is different though. Uno, dos, tres, kwatro, sinko, sais, siyete, otso, nueve (I can't remember the Tagalog spelling. Hahahaha!) and diyes.
We also say "Kumusta ka" like "Como esta". It's also common for older people to curse at you by saying "Por dios, por santo." Hahahaha!

We were under the Spanish rule for 300 years so in some parts of the country, the Spanish influence is still pretty evident. :)

harmony.
Yeah. :) There are tourist spots that highlight this like Intramuros (Walled City) in Manila. Vigan also attracts a lot of tourists since they have areas with preserved Spanish buildings and even brick roads. :)

I was born in Montreal, speak french fluently and would say spanish (and portuguese) sounds more beautiful to me. Portuguese sounds like they are singing all the time (due to their intonation).
I haven't heard Portuguese yet. I'll check it out on Youtube. :)

It seems like Chinese language is really hard to learn.
One of the hardest, I heard. It's because the slightest lilt change in intonation already makes it a different word.
