Is French similar to Spanish

I just checked some essays in Spanish and although I don't have any knowledge of Spanish, I feel the words are written in a similar form to French.

What do you think?

Mai, you're inspirational. You inspire me. So, you understand 3 foreign languages or is there more? 

How do you do it? I've heard that some people have the mind or is it heart to learn several languages.

haha you're cool. No far, it's slightly easy for me because I have the ear for music and it is trained since early childhood, so it may be slightly easier to acquire languages, otherwise we all have it and as long as you enjoy what you do, you will excel 

They both fall under Romance Languages, so they are related. I think there are words that are intelligble to both languages.

Knowinh both is such a cool thing!

I would like to learn French too, I think is easier for the Spanish speaker to learn French and vice versa. But is not as similar to Spanish as is Italian or Portuguese. Like seriously, without even studying the language, If you know Spanish you certainly can recognize some words.

French and Spanish do have alot of similarities

I support this answer, I think that Spanish has more similarities with Italian and Portuguese. This doesn't mean that I don't believe that French is similar to Spanish :P.

I also speak both languages, and I agree. 

From Lexical Similarity:

You can see Spanish & French have a coefficient of .75., Spanish & Italian have .82, and Spanish & Portuguese have .89, which means that both Italian and Portuguese are closer to Spanish than French.

the answer depends on what native language you are speaking. For native English speakers, French would be easier to learn but it will take sometime to learn let's say Mandarin. My native language is Tagalog, it would be easier for me to learn Bahasa Indonesia than Dutch.

There are 4 or 5 categories of languages in terms of difficulty in view of a native English speaker.. here's one link to it
