In my opinion, the weirdest food we have in Philippines is BALUT. It is a developing bird embryo that is boiled and eaten from the shell. I havent tried it yet. :joy:

I only tried the "sabaw" should we call it soup lol.
In my country they eat lots of weird stuff. Weird at least for me...to name a few: they eat iguanas and their eggs, saus which is like pickled pig feet, everything in the chicken including feet, cow tongue, intestines all kind of stuff that might be regular for others but I think is pretty weird.

If you're going to eat/buy Balut, tell the vendor to pick you just the smallest chick.:grin::grin:

Kinilaw na kambing. Lightly grilled/blanched goat meat mixed with chopped onions, bell peppers and chilies and steeped in white cane vinegar. I think it's weird because it is practically raw goat meat. I couldn't... I just couldn't...
Bugs and other weird things aisde, "Killing me softly" from Tarlac. They hit the chicken (while alive) repeatedly with a stick so it develops bruises. They said it makes it yummier. I just find it too...brutal so even though it's just chicken, I have no desire to taste it.
